Lisa McGrory, Owner
Lisa is from Lakeland, Tennessee. Lisa began coaching as a self-proclaimed “Cheer Mom” and opened Champion Sports Institute in 2006 with one Youth All Star team named Arlington Cheer Elite. In 2008, CSI gym merged with GTA Cheer and opened a new facility in Arlington, Tennessee. Following the CSI/GTA merger, the ACE teams won 3 UCA International Championships, two in 2012 and one in 2013. On May 26, 2013, we lost a Pioneer of the All Star Community; this news stunned the cheerleading world. Before his passing Frankie contacted Lisa about merging their two local gyms together. Lisa quotes, “I was determined to continue his last request of me”. On June 11, 2013, CSI Gym opened its doors at the new/old location at Memphis Elite at 1375 Big Orange Rd Cordova, TN. Carrying on Frankie’s dream. “One Team, One Dream, Memphis Elite.” GO BIG BLUE!! Lisa and her husband Vince have three children; Connor, Sarah and Jon-Paul. Sarah cheers for the Senior 2 Legacy team and helps with KinderGym at ME.

Chad Odle – All Star Director/COACH – L4 Senior CoEd Black Smack & L3 Junior Reign, AACCA, NFHS
Chad is a native of Danville, Indiana and brings over 20 years of experience to Memphis Elite. He started his cheerleading career in 1995 and was a 4-year member of his CoEd team at Ball State University. Chad graduated from BSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies Education and Minor in Criminology. He then enrolled in graduate school at Delta State University and competed with the Statesman competitive CoEd Squad in both team competition and Partner Stunts. In 2000, his team won UCA D-II National Championship. He also worked for three years as UCA Summer Instructor on the high school and college level. Chad graduated from Delta State University with a Masters Degree in History Education. In 2001, Chad moved to Memphis, Tennessee and started teaching World Geography at White Station High School. Chad has coached National Championship teams at DeSoto Stars Lg Senior L4 in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Following 2005, he became the Head Coach at the University of Memphis in 2006, as well as a coach at Memphis Elite. Under Chad’s leadership, the University of Memphis maintained a steady placement in the top five of UCA College, and in 2013 UofM won UCA D-1A College National Championship. To add, he has also coached teams at Memphis Elite to multiple championships as well, including Lg Junior L5 in 2007, and Lg Senior CoEd L4 in 2012 and 2013. Chad also coaches Collierville Middle School and St. Benedict High School, which placed in the top ten in 2012 and 2013. Chad and his wife Susannah have a 6-year-old son name Brennen and are expecting their second child this year. Chad’s experience and longstanding track record for success stands as the exemplary model on which the ME standard is emulated.
Jason Cunningham – TUMBLING DIRECTOR USASF Certified Tumbling Levels 1-5
Jason is from Memphis, Tennessee and brings over 20 years of experience to Memphis Elite. He started his cheering career in 1989 as a 4-year member of the CoEd squad at Raleigh-Egypt High School. He began coaching tumbling in 1990. Jason is a tumbling coach legend within the Mid-South Area for his expertise as a tumbling instructor. He has also become the recognized cornerstone of the Memphis Elite organization, standing as the most tenured employee of 18 years. Jason's ability to teach all necessary skills in proper progressions has helped maintain ME's competitive edge.
Adam Bittick – Team Tumbling Instructor
Adam is from Bartlett, Tennessee and brings over 16-years of coaching experience to ME. Adam has been a permanent fixture throughout the Memphis area and has taught tumbling to numerous teams across the Mid-South. He has also given tumbling instructional to the University of Memphis and the University of Mississippi. Adam is a tumbling coach icon throughout the Mid-South and has maintained a level of prestige and excellence, which has solidified him as one of the top tumbling instructors in the country. Adam also serves the Greater Memphis area as a Memphis Police Officer. Adam and his wife Ashley have 3 children; Landon, Tatum and Knox. Tatum cheers on the Youth 2 True Blue team.
Stephanie Acton – COACH – L1 Tiny Tigers & Shooting Stars
Stephanie is from Bartlett, Tennessee. She began her cheerleading career in 1978 and cheered for several local teams around the Memphis area. She cheered for one year in high school before moving onto the dance team where she was a participant for three years. Following her graduation from Bartlett High School, she enrolled at the University of Memphis and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology after which she attained a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching. Stephanie’s experience includes the Memphis Mad Dog’s CFL Dance Team and Main Attraction, as well as over 20 years working with Shelby Youth Sports cheerleaders. She currently teaches Kindergarten at Bon Lin Elementary. Stephanie and her husband Keith have three daughters and one son; Elizabeth, Ella, Emily and K.J. Elizabeth is a cheerleader at Arlington Middle School, Ella is a member of the Level 2 True Blue Squad and Emily is a member of the Level 1 Tiny Tigers Team here at ME.
Joe Arkansas – COACH – L5 Senior Blue Diamonds AACCA & USASF Certified Levels 1
Joe is from San Diego, California and brings over 12 years of experience to Memphis Elite. He started cheering in 2001 for California All Stars where he attained multiple national championships. Following graduation from San Marcos High School, he enrolled at Palomar College and cheered for 3-years winning the UCA Jr. College Nationals Championship in 2005. After graduating with an Associates Degree, he transferred to Morehead State University. Joe cheered for 4-years and won UCA D-1 National Championships in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. While cheering, Joe also coached Pikeville Middle School for 4-years. Following his graduation from MSU with a Bachelor’s Degree In Exercise Science and Kinesiology, he enrolled at the University of Memphis seeking his Masters Degree. Joe cheered at UofM for 4-years and won UCA D-1A National Championship in 2013. He also participated at a member of TEAM USA in 2009, 2010 and 2011 winning a Gold Medal at the International Championship Union. Joe began working at Champion Sports Institute in 2010 overseeing three International Championship teams. Joe’s experience and motivation allows him to constantly push the ME athletes to new heights.
Leigh Rivers – COACH – L1 Tiny Tigers & Shooting Stars
Leigh is from Lakeland, Tennessee. She began her competitive gymnastics career in 1977 and competed for 7-years. She then moved into cheerleading and was a 4-year member of her high school squad. Following her graduation from Bolton High School, she enrolled at Shelby County Community College and received a degree in Radiology. She also coached competitive gymnastics for 10-years at the highest level. Leigh is currently a Radiological Technologist at Methodist North Hospital. Leigh and her husband Chris have a daughter Addison, who is a member of the Level 2 Youth True Blue Squad here at ME.
Jasmine Darnell – COACH – L1 Mighty Minis USASF Certified Levels 1-3
Jasmine is from Clarksville, Tennessee and brings over 7-years of experience to ME. She began cheering in 2006 and was a 4-year member of her high school squad. Following her graduation from Northwest High School, she enrolled at Austin Peay State University where she cheered for 2 years. Jasmine then transferred to the University of Memphis seeking a degree in Physical Education. She is a member of the CoEd Squad from U of M, and was on the squad when it won the 2013 D1-A National Championship. She has worked for 3 years as a UCA Summer Instructor for the high school level and is also the Coach for the Ridgeway Middle School cheerleading squad. Jasmine brings high energy and a competitive drive to the atmosphere at Memphis Elite.
Bryant Carter - TUMBLING INSTRUCTOR USASF Certified Tumbling Levels 1-4
Bryant is from Memphis, Tennessee. He started cheering in 2002 and was a 2-year member of the 2004 & 2005 UCA High School National Championship CoEd team from Christian Brothers High School. Following his graduation from CBHS, Bryant enrolled at the University of Alabama. He was a 2-year member of the CoEd Squad at Bama and ACE of Alabama before moving back home and transferring to the University of Memphis to gain a degree in Biology and Chemistry. Bryant began working as an instructor at Champion Sports Institute in 2007. His overwhelming confidence and laid back demeanor have become a recognized characteristic at Memphis Elite.
